Shoring installation is underway to allow for excavation of underground parking garage.
Overhead power and cable lines throughout the site will be converted to installed underground lines during the month of June. Water and gas lines have been installed underground to service the new project and connected to Pacific Coast Highway. Energization of underground lines by SDG&E scheduled to occur on July 8th, 2017. Amber Lantern closure anticipated on July 10th 2017 to allow for construction of underground parking garage to continue.
Underground Parking Garage Construction Underway
Make way for more parking in downtown. Site grading activities have begun for the construction of a new parking garage in downtown Dana Point in connection with Prado West. Upon completion, the new garage will provide additional business parking for Prado West and other businesses located in the Lantern District.
Utility Work Underway
The developer of Prado West, Raintree Partners, will be upgrading utilities in the downtown area in connection with the development of the project. The majority of existing overhead power and data lines between the Street of Amber Lantern and the Street of Violet Lantern will be buried underground and out of sight. This work started in September and is expected to be completed in late spring of 2017.
Foundation work at the site has begun.
