About The Contest

Students at Dana Hills High School were invited to participate in a public art competition focused on two themes: (i) Lanterns in the Lantern District or (ii) Faces of Dana Point.  24 finalists were selected from over 100 submittals.  The 24 finalist's artwork will be displayed in downtown Dana Point along the Pacific Coast Highway for public review and voting.

Dana Hills students and Dana Point residents are invited to cast their vote for their favorite piece of art using the following competition judgement criteria:

  • Technical skill, composition, and creativity
  • Conformance with the theme(s):  Lanterns in the Lantern District or (ii) Faces of Dana Point
  • Connection to Dana Point and/or Dana Point History

You can click on the images below to learn more about each artist's work and connection to the project themes.
